Green Swing is a short, medium-easy solo written in a jazz style. This piece is ideal for those players who have some experience studying jazz/bop playing and are looking for something more than basic coordination and vocabulary exercises. The motive of the piece utilizes dialogue between the bass and snare, a common characteristic found in the jazz/bop style of playing. As the motivic ideas are developed throughout the solo, the iconic rhythmic backdrop of the swung ride cymbal pattern along with hi-hat chunks on the back beats serve to solidify the pulse. 

All that is required is a basic bop kit (bass drum, snare drum, high tom, low tom, hi-hat, ride cymbal, and crash cymbal).
