For the Most Part is a medium-advanced 4-mallet solo that was composed for the SoundShot Music Contest in 2023. This piece features the use of single alternating strokes throughout. Performed as eighth notes, the single alternating strokes serve as the rhythmic drive and harmonic support throughout. Although the majority of the piece can be classified as a medium difficulty, the climax of the piece requires the performer to execute a three-against-two polyrhythm at a large spread between hands!
