A two-mallet vibraphone solo that requires the performer to strike the nodal points on the bars (the "dead" or less resonate area) to create a rhythmic backdrop over which the melody is performed. The performer must take care to strike the bars in the correct area in order to present a clear statement of the melody. Premiered by Dr. Matt Geiger at East Tennessee State University in 2019.
